Game Boy

Un emulatore del Game Boy originale (DMG). Gioca i file .gb che copi nella cartella /sdcard/home/roms: giochi homebrew liberi (per esempio da Homebrew Hub) o le copie delle tue cartucce.

Aggiungere i giochi

Copia i file .gb in /sdcard/home/roms con l'app File o dal web companion (la cartella viene creata al primo avvio). Tocca un gioco nella lista, oppure sceglilo con la croce del gamepad e premi A. Massimo 4 MB per gioco. I giochi solo Game Boy Color non sono supportati; quelli compatibili con entrambe le console funzionano, in bianco e nero.

Comandi

• Touch: croce direzionale a sinistra, A e B a destra (puoi far scivolare il pollice dall'uno all'altro), SELECT in basso a sinistra, START in basso a destra. Più dita insieme funzionano.
• Gamepad USB o Bluetooth: croce o levetta sinistra; A e Y = A; B e X = B; Start; Back/View = Select.
• Tastiera USB: frecce o WASD; Spazio/X/Invio = A; Z/C/Backspace = B; P o Tab = Start; Esc = Select.
• MENU (in alto a sinistra), i dorsali L/R o il tasto Guide del gamepad mettono in pausa.

Il menu di pausa

Continua, Ricomincia (spegne e riaccende la console), Zoom 4x o 3x (più piccolo, lascia più spazio ai comandi), Colori (verde, grigio, Pocket, colori stile Game Boy Color) e Altro gioco torna alla lista. Zoom e colori restano memorizzati. Il gesto indietro del sistema apre il menu; ripetuto, esce.

Salvataggi

I giochi con la batteria nella cartuccia salvano come sul Game Boy: il file <nome>.sav compare accanto al gioco in /sdcard/home/roms pochi secondi dopo il salvataggio e quando esci.

Audio

Il suono è emulato (i quattro canali del Game Boy). Se un'altra app sta usando l'altoparlante (per esempio Musica), il gioco parte muto e riprova ogni pochi secondi.

Game Boy

Game Boy

An emulator of the original Game Boy (DMG). It plays the .gb files you copy to /sdcard/home/roms: free homebrew games (for example from Homebrew Hub) or backups of your own cartridges.

Adding games

Copy .gb files to /sdcard/home/roms with the Files app or the web companion (the folder is created on first start). Tap a game in the list, or pick it with the pad's D-pad and press A. Up to 4 MB per game. Game Boy Color only games are not supported; dual-mode ones work, in black and white.

Controls

• Touch: D-pad on the left, A and B on the right (you can slide your thumb from one to the other), SELECT bottom left, START bottom right. Several fingers at once work.
• USB or Bluetooth gamepad: D-pad or left stick; A and Y = A; B and X = B; Start; Back/View = Select.
• USB keyboard: arrows or WASD; Space/X/Enter = A; Z/C/Backspace = B; P or Tab = Start; Esc = Select.
• MENU (top left), the L/R shoulder buttons or the pad's Guide button pause the game.

The pause menu

Resume, Reset (power-cycles the console), Zoom 4x or 3x (smaller, more room for the controls), Colours (green, grey, Pocket, Game Boy Color style) and Other game goes back to the list. Zoom and colours are remembered. The system back gesture opens the menu; twice, it exits.

Saves

Games with a battery in the cartridge save as on a Game Boy: <name>.sav appears next to the game in /sdcard/home/roms a few seconds after the game saves, and when you leave.

Sound

Sound is emulated (the Game Boy's four channels). If another app holds the speaker (the Music app, say), the game starts muted and retries every few seconds.
